Due to the current situation with COVID, Friends for Life Adult Day Care has remained open as an essential service. In accordance with our contracts with HHSC, we follow all the CDC, HHSC, and McLennan County Health Authority recommendations to combat the spread of COVID. Some of the guidelines and changes we are observing at this time are:
- Taking temperatures upon entrance for all staff and clients.
- All staff wears masks, and clients are strongly encouraged to wear them.
- Meals are eaten in small groups of 10 or less.
- Social distancing: Clients are kept in rooms with 10 people or less with one or two consistent staff members to reduce exposure. Clients are strongly encouraged to stay at least 6 feet apart.
- All field trips are suspended temporarily according to the HHSC guidelines.
- All large group activities are temporarily suspended. Games, dances, karaoke, BINGO, and other activities are held in the separate units.
- No visitors are allowed into the facility beyond the front desk.
- All repairmen and necessary outsiders are required to wear masks inside the building.
