Teaching Youth and Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Reading, Math, and Computer Skills

CEI has given us an incredible opportunity to teach youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities how to read and to understand simple math concepts while at the same time teaching them computer skills.
We incorporate this program into our Adult Day Care and Life Skills Training Programs, and have additional space to serve people from the community who are not in those programs.

Friends for Life implements Interactive Metronome® (IM), an evidence-based training and assessment tool that is proven to improve a number of cognitive functions, such as attention, focus, memory, and comprehension. IM also is proven to increase motor and sensory skills. For some people participating with FFL, we use the focusing aspect of IM before getting into the reading and math tasks.
