God gave me the dream for this ministry in 1989 and I chose a law firm that had created 1,600 nonprofits to put Friends for Life together.  When everything was complete and the application submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for our 501(c)(3), the attorney told me to go home and wait.  He said it could take anywhere from 6 to 18 months for us to be approved.  Six weeks later, he called me to say they had never had a nonprofit approved so quickly
