Growing Friends for Life

In the early 2000s, I felt very strongly that God wanted me to expand our work and hire some additional people. We were blessed at that time with free office space provided by Cheryl Lenamon in her ad agency. I told God we didn’t have any place to put people if we did hire them. That afternoon, Cheryl told me that some office space in the building was about to open up. She wanted to know if we wanted it. I told her yes.

Then I told God we didn’t have any furniture for those offices. The Junior League called to tell me they had some furniture. Did we want it? It was exactly what we needed for the new office space.

I told God we didn’t have any office supplies, and amazingly, He didn’t lose patience with me. My sister called from Dallas and said, “I’m about to place an order for office supplies. Tell me what Friends for Life needs, and I’ll have it shipped to you.” I don’t think she had ever done that before or since  I knew God was serious about bringing on some additional people to expand our ability to take care of His people.
