Carolyn Florczyk is originally from the Northern Chicago area. She moved to Waco in March of 2017 and has been working for Friends for Life since January 2018. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her parents and two older sisters still live in Illinois. Carolyn’s inspiration for pursuing social work and social justice is her oldest sister, who has mild intellectual disabilities. During her free time, you can find her watching a movie, serving in her local church, or working with Waco Civic Theater.
Carolyn works as a Region 7 Care Manager in the Guardianship department at Friends for Life. Carolyn is a Licensed Master Social Worker in both Illinois and Texas, and a Texas Certified Guardian. Some of the responsibilities Carolyn has as a care manager are visiting clients at least once monthly, speaking with the clients’ caregivers and family, and monitoring the clients’ medical care. By doing this she works to ensure that the client’s needs are met and every client is living safely and happily in the least restrictive environment possible.
Carolyn constantly demonstrates integrity, a caring spirit, humility, and kindness toward everyone she meets, including clients and co-workers. Carolyn believes in professional teamwork and compassionate service which she demonstrates by willingly helping others any way she can. She is a great asset to Friends for Life and especially the Guardianship department.
Thank you, Carolyn, for your wonderful work with Friends for Life. We so appreciate you!
