This year on Saturday, September 9th, Friends for Life will host its first 5K fun run at Woodway Park.  We will also have a separate special 1 Mile Fun Run for our clients and for anyone else wanting to do a shorter walk/roll/run.  Some of our clients will be there to greet the runners.  Beginning at 8am, it will be a morning full of fun and there will be surprises for all our runners!

Registration is now open!

Grandparents Day – September 10th is Grandparents Day.

We will celebrate by having an Open House at Friends for Life and bringing all the clients and volunteers in our Adopt a Grandparent Program to the Center.

We will be hosting clients who want to be adopted as well as volunteers who are interested in adopting a grandparent.

ATMOS Energy will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, so if you are interested in coming to honor our seniors, be sure to give us a call so we can have food for you. If you can help by offering a ride to the Center for one of our clients, please call Donna at 772-7600 Ext. 110

A Night at the Theatre

Each year, The Waco Civic Theatre gives us the opportunity of seeing one of their plays in a special seating to watch a Dress Rehearsal performance of one of their plays. This year, we have chosen ‘Dream On’ and the performance will be Thursday, September 28th.

Thanksgiving  morning each year hundreds of volunteers gather at Friends for Life to                                         package and deliver meals to the homebound, elderly and people with disabilities.

Gifts for Grannies & Grandpas, too

Most of the people we serve are alone. Each year, at Christmas and throughout the year, we collect, package and deliver gifts to lonely elderly and people with disabilities.
