Bill Williams has been a Money Management Specialist for 12 years.

1. What’s your favorite part of working with Friends for Life? “Improving the quality of life for our clients.”

2. How many clients do you serve?  ” I serve about 100 clients.”

3. Tell me a little about what you do at work on a daily basis?  “I take calls from clients and from people that need money management. I work with volunteers, sign checks as needed (about 500 each month). I also do the banking for all of our clients.”

4. What do you like to do for fun out side of work? “I like to travel, visit friends and family, go to breakfast and dinner with friends, go for long walks with my dog Maggie, go to church, do a lot of yard work, and much more.”

Meet Monica Rodriguez

Monica

Monica has been an Estate Specialist for 9 months.

What’s your favorite part of working with Friends for Life? “My favorite part of working with Friends for Life is serving our clients and getting to be a part of the joy and gratefulness they show.”

How many clients do you serve? “I serve twelve clients.”

Tell me a little about what you do at work on a daily basis? “I pay bills for our clients almost daily. I gather information when they need to be on Medicaid and Medicaid renewals. I make various phone calls, fax needed documents and emails to our care managers. I sort and file their mail. I prepare documentation if they need property sold and help with annual accounts. I will write checks for their stipends to be filled by the bank. I do my best to make sure their financial needs are met.”

What do you like to do for fun outside of work? “I enjoy playing with my grandson, playing with my children, watching them play sports, going to church, having barbeques with my friends, family, and taking my family on outings.”

 

Meet Sally Flores

Sally

Sally started out as a volunteer for 2 year and became a Money Management Clerk 4 months ago.

What’s your favorite part of working with Friends for Life? “I enjoy all the people working here and our clients.”

How many clients do you serve? “There are over 100 clients in Money Management. 70 clients in the surrounding counties and 33 for Galveston county.”

Tell me a little about what you do at work on a daily basis? “I write checks, post checks and deposits to Quick Books, reconcile bank statements, and file invoices and correspondences from Social Sectary.”

What do you like to do for fun outside of work? “I like traveling, gardening, sewing, and knitting.”

 

 

Meet Mary Gonzalez

Mary

Mary has been one of the Estate Clerks for 3 years.

What’s your favorite part of working with Friends for Life? “Talking with our volunteers not only about check writing, but about family too.”

How many clients do you serve? “I serve about 114 clients.”

Tell me a little about what you do at work on a daily basis? “I write checks not only once a month, but everyday. I do deposits and post them in Quick Book online and  post checks everyday. I reload gift cards and post info in a spreadsheet.”

What do you like to do for fun outside of work? “Go to movies, out to eat,  visit with my children, and grandchildren.”

 

Meet Kim Holecek

Kim H.

Kim has been the Assistant Director of the Adult Day Care for about 8 years.

What’s your favorite part of working with Friends for Life? “The client’s, the love that they have is amazing. I learn from them everyday. They make me smile even if I’m having a bad day.”

How many clients do you serve? “In the Adult Day Care we serve about 80 to 85 client’s per day.”

Tell me a little about what you do at work on a daily basis? “My day is filled with signing client’s in and out for the day. Making sure everyone is counted for every meal is served. Preparing census and inputting it in the computer. Assisting our Director with different task throughout the day. I am usually wherever I’m needed and that could mean pretty much anywhere.”

What do you like to do for fun outside of work? “I spend almost all of my time with my family when I’m not working. I almost always have the Grandchildren. I have six Grandchildren and one on the way. So I stay busy outside of Friends for Life.”
