Two Abilene Groups Choose FFL for Donations

ACU donates to FFL

Tasked with giving large sums of money to a select few charity organizations is the lesson taught to 14 Abilene Christian University students last semester. Taking Strategic Philanthropy class, the students were given the opportunity to research, select and distribute a $50,000 donation given by an anonymous donor.  After extensive research and visits to many charities, they chose seven charities out of 33 that met their requirements. Friends for Life was the recipient of $5,000.

In addition to the $5,000 donation from Abilene Christian University, the Community Foundation of Abilene gave FFL an additional $5,000. On behalf of Friends for Life Abilene, Cecilia Barahona, received the donation. We thank the students and the community foundation  for selecting Friends for Life.

Thank You Lawns Ltd. for Donating Our Landscaping Makeover

Friends for Life New Landscaping plans

Inez Russell with Lisa Torgersen and Josh Wible going over landscape designs

Local landscaping company, Lawns Ltd. chose us as their “Give Back to the Community” project this year. Not only did they donate a low maintenance design, they are donating all the bells and whistles. We will have a state of the art irrigation system, beautiful and colorful plants and FREE maintenance.  It is so much fun to watch the progress, and how amazing to think that all of this is FREE!

They began by removing tired plants to recycle.
